The MDG Amphitheater

The MDGs need to be reached by 2015, no one is more aware of this than the UN!

During the MDG Amphitheatre two members of UN GAID and a Programme Associate of the Knight Foundation:

• Ivo Ivanovski, Steering Committee Member UN GAID & Minister of Information Society, Macedonia

• Ramon Alberto Garza Garcia, Co-Chairman UN GAID / President & CEO Indigo Brainmedia

• Jose Zamora, Program Associate Knight Foundation

come together to discuss their views of the implementation of the MDGs by 2015. The Winners are allowed to ask questions, showcase their projects, share their motivations, strategies and visions. The event started with an inner circle discussion between high-level dignities, prominent supporters of the MDGs and the young creators. Afterwards WSYA fellows and the general public were invited to join the event and share their experiences and ideas.

It was a very educative event and I urge Nigerian policy makers to take the subject “MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS” more serious and involve the youth and leverage on the multitude of ideas that they have. This kind of forum is educative to both the youths and the policy makers.

Time is ticking, 2015 is around the corner and our cities lie in shambles, our people die in poverty while we sit back and do…NOTHING.
