WSYA 2010 Trip

The countdown has begun, we're off to New York tomorrow and there is still so much to do. Good thing my suitcase is packed, so I am ready to go :)

All our print material is arriving today, lets hope it looks good....especially the programme designed by yours truly....

The programme....what"s going to happen at the events in NYC?

It all starts on Saturday evening where the winners will have a chance to meet each other and network and meet other invited guests and WSA Network Members.

On Sunday we will join over 170 million people worldwide in standing up and speaking out regarding the poor implementation of the MDGs, which according to the UN Summit in 2000 where they were set, should be implemented by 2015......5 years, quite impossible if you ask me..... here is some more information on the Stand Up NYC event. If you are reading this and you are in NYC, please feel free to join us..... http://www.standupnyc.org/  or join one of the other Stand Up events in your part of the world. Is there one in Lagos???? Where are all my activist friends?

Sunday rounds up with presentations from all our Winners at the World Cafe event, which will be held at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York. I am one of the panel chairs and look forward to healthy discussions. Look out for pictures.....

Monday kicks off with the Winners Award Ceremony, an event attended by UN GAID leaders and other high-level dignitaries. HAPPY NETWORKING I would say....

After the Ceremony the winners have been invited by Bloomberg (http://www.bloomberg.com/) an American Media giant who will review the winning projects and discuss how they can be enhanced.

In the evening we will all be gathered at the WSYA MDG Amphitheater, an event where UN GAID representatives, ICT Ministers, IT Professionals, Content Developers and Creatives from all over the world will gather to discuss the winning projects.....it's all about the winners.....next year it could be you....

On Tuesday we will start the day with another Media exchange that will give the Winners even more insight into their projects from a professional media perspective. The executives of Wunderman (http://wunderman.com/) have taken great interest in our winning projects....

After the Media Exchange I hope to jet off to the UN WEEK DIGITAL MEDIA SALON (http://technologysalon.org/2010/09/ict4d-innovation-the-millenniu.html) that I was invited to yesterday. Should be fun. Our winners will proceed to the workshops we have planned for them and will receive presentation by top-level e-content providers, activists and NGO proprietors. In the evening we will round up with the closing dinner.

Wednesday morning we have a Powerbreakfast with UN GAID representatives set up....as you can see it pays off to be a winner....or a juror like me :)

After that we round up and set off back home....

Look out for lots of pictures from the events....

See you in NYC....
